The DR® PRO XLP 3-Point Hitch Trimmer Mower is a tractor-mounted trimming attachment designed for Category 1 tractors. It is intended for maintaining fence lines, roadsides, ditches, pond banks, walls, and other areas accessible by tractor.

The PRO XLP uses the tractor’s hydraulic lift and connects to the tractor’s 3-point hitch and PTO shaft. Its spring-loaded mowing arm, pivoting deck, and adjustable-height anti-scalping wheel allow the trimmer head to follow uneven terrain while working close to obstacles.

Tractor-Mounted Trimming

The PRO XLP allows operators to trim long fence lines, roadside vegetation, ditches, pond banks, and other areas directly from the tractor seat. By using the tractor’s 3-point hitch and PTO system, the attachment provides a tractor-mounted alternative to handheld or walk-behind trimming equipment.

For proper cutting and discharge of material, the manufacturer recommends a maximum trimming speed of 2 mph.

Spring-Loaded Mowing Arm

The spring-loaded mowing arm allows the trimmer head to deflect around obstacles such as:

• Fence posts
• Mailboxes
• Walls
• Other fixed obstacles

The adjustable resistance allows the mowing arm to respond according to the trimming conditions while helping the operator work close to obstacles.

23″ Steel Guard

A 23-inch-diameter steel guard surrounds the trimming head and helps maintain close trimming around obstacles.

The manufacturer specifies that the guard allows the trimmer head to cut within 1/2 inch of an obstacle.

Quick-Lock™ Trimmer Head

The PRO XLP comes equipped with the patented Quick-Lock™ Trimmer Head. The system is designed to allow cutting cord to be replaced quickly without tools.

New cord can be inserted directly into the trimmer head, where the gripping system holds it in place.

The trimmer head accepts 225 mil and 255 mil DR® cutting cords. For replacement cord, the manufacturer specifies either Quick-Lock 13-inch pre-cut cord or a compatible bulk cord roll.

Adjustable Anti-Scalping Wheel

The adjustable-height Anti-Scalping Wheel helps maintain a consistent distance between the trimmer head and the ground. This helps reduce ground scalping while allowing the operator to adjust the cutting height.

Cutting height adjustment: 1.5″ to 3.5″

Pivoting Deck

The pivoting deck is designed to follow the contours of uneven ground. This makes the PRO XLP suitable for areas such as roadsides, pond banks, ditches, and other terrain where the ground surface is not level.

Category 1 Tractor Compatibility

The DR PRO XLP connects to the 3-point hitch mechanism and PTO shaft of a Category 1 tractor.

The tractor’s hydraulic lift is used to raise and lower the attachment.

Protected Shaft Coupling

A protected shaft coupling helps shield the PTO shaft connection from debris and potential damage during operation.

Super-Duty Cutting Cords

The PRO XLP accepts DR® trimming cord, including the specified 225 mil and 255 mil cutting cords designed for use with the Quick-Lock™ Trimmer Head.
